New Gadget!

This Zoom Q3 Video Recorder will be used to record lessons and studio class performances this year. Each of you will provide an SD card and then be able to view the lesson on any computer with Quicktime or iTunes. The sound quality of this device is outstanding, so this will likely replace the CD recordings that we have done in the past.

Welcome Back!

I'm happy to welcome back all my returning voice students and those involved in opera at MSU. I hope you all had enjoyable, productive summers and are ready to begin the Fall semester. I had a very busy and exciting summer myself and will soon be adding posts about these activities. A few quick items/reminders as we head back for the semester:
1. RacerMail is here! Amen to no more full mailboxes! Remember, e-mail is the official form of communication from the university to you. This means you MUST check email at least once daily. Administration, faculty and staff all expect you to check your email. Facebook is great, but it will NEVER replace email in the professional world, so get in the habit of checking your email.
2. myGate - check your course listings and make sure that you are enrolled for lessons and ensembles.
3. Lessons and accompanists: Pick up a schedule sheet from my door and return it ASAP with your class schedule correctly filled out. I do give priority for requested times to the schedules I receive first. Also, the sooner you have a confirmed lesson time, the sooner you can communicate to your accompanist. Please get your pianist lined up immediately.

That's all for now!
